Founded by Linda Gieskes-Mwamba, born in Kinshasa, DRC, and raised between Brussels and Johannesburg, Suki Suki Naturals started in 2010 when Linda, then a law student, was struggling to find affordable, chemical-free products to grow out her afro. She launched the brand and in 2017 left her career as a lawyer to run it full-time. Its skincare range concentrates rich African ingredients such as Buchu Leaf Extract, Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Moringa Extract and Argan Oil to provide deep hydration and protect the skin. The products are specially developed for those living under the harsh African sun. Gieskes-Mwamba also wants to disprove the idea that African products are merely 'artisanal' or lack innovation, stressing they can compete with longer-standing brands.
