Aweni Organics
Founded by Oluwatomi (Tomi) Pearce

Aweni Organics is a luxury, handcrafted shea-butter house proudly rooted in Nigerian heritage. Tomi Pearce is its founder and CEO, and she named the line Aweni, a Southwestern Nigerian praise name meaning 'purity', to tell her proudly Nigerian story through an emerging luxury skincare line. Aweni Organics was established in October 2012. The deep-skin relevance is in its restorative cleansing: its best-selling Liquid African Black Soap is hand-crafted with a shea butter and coconut oil base using traditional West African methods, and is particularly helpful for sensitive, scarred, uneven, prematurely ageing and chemically damaged skin. The ingredient sourcing is meticulous: products use food-grade organic shea butter and botanical extracts, 95% of which are indigenous to Nigeria and the African continent. A true hidden gem, small-batch, ethically sourced, and positioned in Nigeria's emerging luxury market.
