4.5.6 Skin is a science-first brand built entirely around deep skin. Born in Cameroon and raised in Normandy, France, founder Noelly Michoux, a former beauty e-commerce director, experienced the skincare struggle firsthand while moving across Europe and the USA, then partnered with top scientists to create clinical skincare developed from the ground up for darker skin. The brand is unusually rigorous in its mission: they are the world's first skincare lab fully dedicated to studying the needs of darker skin, scientifically known as Skin Phototypes IV, V, VI. Incubated at the LVMH Research Center before establishing its own lab in France's Cosmetic Valley, the line is fully customised. When ordering, you share your skin phototype, your skin type, and up to three skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, uneven skin and dull skin, and 4.5.6 uses this to create a custom concentration of ingredients.
