Maréna Beauté was founded in 2015, focusing on high-quality makeup made to match the complexions and needs of darker skin tones, it was Sweden's first brand geared towards darker skin. The origin story is pure frustration-to-solution: before creating her brand, Maréna recalled having to mix eight different foundations to achieve decent shade matches for her darker-skinned clients. What makes it special is its uncompromising deep-skin specificity, the line was developed to meet the needs of darker-complexioned consumers exclusively, and items are named bearing witness to the African origin of the founder. Shades carry names like Khartoum, Casamance, Dakar and Saint-Louis, mapped to red, neutral and yellow deep-brown undertones. The brand is vegan and cruelty-free.
