Rooted in Africa and micro-batched in Southern California, it was founded by Dr. Mia Chae Reddy, and the name is an homage to Queen Dehiya, a fearless warrior-queen of the Amazigh people. After living abroad in Italy and studying under a fourth-generation herbalist in Marrakech, Reddy, who began in skincare with Clinique and was a makeup artist for Smashbox and Chanel, and later earned a PhD from the University of Maryland, was inspired to launch a brand celebrating global beauty traditions. DEHIYA is a plant-based, vegan and sustainable line of minimal, multi-use products rooted in ancient beauty traditions of the African Diaspora.
