Constance Beauty
Founded by Constance Mapule Bhebhe

Constance Beauty began life as Connie Transform, founded in 2016 by Zimbabwean-born, South Africa-based entrepreneur Constance Mapule Bhebhe. She was tired of not being able to find lipstick shades that complimented her skin tone, and what started as a joke between Constance and her cousin about starting her own line catering to women of colour turned into reality. The South African-based brand initially specialised in liquid lipsticks. It launched with only five lipstick shades and quickly grew to nearly 30 lip-wear options, and now also produces foundation, concealer, mascara, face powders, eyeshadow, eyelashes and other colour cosmetics. All products are vegan and cruelty-free, and the founder positions it as 'affordable luxury for discerning women,' insisting African women deserve gorgeous products rather than generic packaging. The discovery-gem angle: a founder-led, woman-of-colour-first colour brand that expanded from lips into a full base range. Caveat: verify the current shade depth of its newer foundation line.
