Laws of Nature Cosmetics is one of the original clean-beauty makeup lines built foundation-first for melanin-rich skin. Established in 2015 by Fort Worth native and cosmetic formulator Jasmine Rose, the brand grew out of her mother's 2007 metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, which sparked years of research into the links between parabens and long-term health risks. Frustrated by the lack of clean, inclusive foundations, Jasmine began experimenting in her kitchen in 2009, wanting a foundation that matched her skin tone and was made with ingredients she could trust. She launched in 2015, and the line is available in 16 shades and four formulas for all skin types. The range spans liquid foundation in matte and satin, cream-to-powder, foundation stick and loose mineral, from creamy caramel to dark chocolate. The discovery-gem angle: it's a genuinely deep-skin-first clean line that predates the inclusivity boom. Caveat: a small, direct-only operation, so stock and shade availability can fluctuate.
