The Ultimate Foundations were formulated by Cinema Secrets founder Maurice Stein, specially geared to satisfy the needs of entertainment-industry makeup artists. Its color system is unusually intentional about deep skin: the 100 Series is suited to dark skin tones with light to dark red undertones, while the 500B series is ideal for those with medium-deep pink-beige undertones. High pigmentation is the secret behind these ultra-light, smooth creams that cover blemishes, birthmarks, discolorations and even tattoos, with a soft, natural matte finish that spreads more easily than most foundations. The honest caveat is documented by retailers: the darker pigmented foundations show oxidation over time when exposed to air, and crystallization can occur on the surface, though it disappears once mixed.
