Immortelle Beauty

Immortelle Beauty is a luxury Caribbean cosmetics and bath-body house founded in 2010 by Trinidadian cosmetic chemist Kathryn Nurse, with the ethos of creating "Little Local Luxuries" made 100% in Trinidad & Tobago. Named after the immortelle tree, planted to shade cocoa plants, which Nurse links to Caribbean women as nurturers, the brand proves local manufacturing and international-standard sophistication aren't mutually exclusive. Nurse trained for years in a U.S. cosmetic R&D lab and is both founder and formulator, building thoughtful, ingredient-led products: the Esscentials lotions, body butters, polishes, spray oils, candles and diffusers. Most relevant to deep skin, she developed body illuminators in three shades for different skin tones, marketing the carnival-ready shimmer not just for Trinidad but carnivals worldwide. The discovery angle is a genuinely under-the-radar, science-led, founder-formulated Caribbean luxury brand competing without billion-dollar resources. Caveats: the core is bath/body/fragrance rather than complexion makeup, and a more makeup-focused sister brand was reportedly in the works, worth verifying before assigning a full color depth range.
