Armani Beauty's Luminous Silk Foundation is a 25-year-old makeup-artist icon, notably co-developed in its early days with Pat McGrath, and its 2025/2026 reformulation made it materially better for deep skin. Of the now-44 shades, 18 are new, following rigorous consumer testing and research, with all traces of white pigment eliminated. The technical change matters: a new green pigment expanded the range for olive undertones, and an ultramarine blue pigment was incorporated into the deeper shades. This was done specifically to enhance luminosity and intensity in deeper tones, crucially avoiding the ashiness that was previously an unmet need for individuals with deeper skin tones. The deep end now runs through multiple "Very Deep" options in neutral, olive, warm golden and cool red. The lightweight formula delivers medium buildable coverage, 24-hour wear and a natural glow. It's a global anchor rather than a discovery gem, but post-reformulation it earns genuine inclusion credibility for deep complexions.
