EX1 Cosmetics is a British, biochemist-founded brand engineered specifically for olive and golden undertones that mainstream foundations render too pink or orange. In 2013, after two years of development, Farah Naz launched EX1 Cosmetics, focusing on complexion products such as foundation, concealer and blush. Her biochemistry training drove the formulation: she couldn't understand why foundations always looked too pink or orange on her olive skin, so she created a completely unique blend of yellow/golden pigments designed to look like skin. The hero Invisiwear Liquid Foundation is available in 16 shades using completely unique golden yellow tones, and the mineral powder is suitable for very fair to deeply tanned olive skin. Naz reframed skin classification away from the Fitzpatrick scale. Honest caveat: EX1 specialises in olive depth rather than the very deepest tones, so it serves the medium-to-deep-tan end of this angle best.
