Shimirose is a London-based luxury, vegan shea butter skincare brand. Founded by Akua Asiedua Asare, it makes 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free products primarily from shea butter sourced from Ghana, with eco-conscious zero-waste glass jars and metal lids. Asare founded Shimirose in 2008 and started trading in London in 2018, with products handmade from all-natural, paraben- and toxin-free ingredients. The shea butter is sourced through family connections in Ghana and via the Global Shea Alliance, helping ensure workers and farmers are paid fairly while improving the livelihoods of rural African women. For deep skin, unrefined Ghanaian shea is a proven heavyweight for dryness, ashiness and barrier repair common in melanin-rich complexions. Shimirose grew from market stalls to a limited company in 2020 and opened its first store in July 2023. Discovery angle: a genuinely small, heritage-driven Ghanaian-British indie. Caveat: this is shea-based bodycare and skincare, not a colour-cosmetics shade range, so it serves deep skin through formulation.
