79 Lux
Founded by Karen Cummings-Palmer

79 Lux (also styled 79 Luxe) is a luxury "serious skincare for the body" line by London-based health and wellness expert Karen Cummings-Palmer. She believes good skincare should nourish, hydrate, protect and illuminate, and the first product was born from her need to treat her own dry, eczema-prone skin while managing signs of ageing, deeply hydrating but not greasy, largely organic and luxurious. The founder is a health and nutrition coach, and the first product addressed her own eczema-prone skin. The body-focused angle is unusual and the formulas, high-quality organic ingredients leaving skin deeply hydrated without greasiness, including essential oils, shea butter, rose quartz and hyaluronic acid, directly answer dryness and dullness common in deep skin. A milestone was seeing the first product on the shelves of Liberty London. Discovery angle: a small, self-funded, Black-owned luxury body brand stocked at Liberty. Caveat: it's a small range for the body rather than a complexion line, so "deep skin" service is through treatment rather than shade matching.
