Emolyne Cosmetics is a British beauty brand with deep Ugandan roots, founded by Emolyne Ramlov, who was born in Ibanda, Uganda, and grew up on a farm in the countryside before moving to Denmark at thirteen and later to London. The brand was born from a familiar frustration: she realized the makeup industry was not offering a choice of colors for different skin tones, went from store to store seeing the same gap, and decided to change it. Launched in May 2020, the line is built around perfectly matched reds and nudes spanning lip and nail products. She created five colors for light skins, five for medium skins, and five for dark skins, later expanding to 30 shades. Products honor her heritage, named after African countries and cities, the deep mauve 'Uganda' shade among them. Products are vegan and paraben-free and don't contain harmful chemicals.
