Rosen Skincare

Rosen Skincare was founded in 2017 by Jamika Martin while she was an undergraduate at UCLA, after years of battling chronic acne (including Accutane) and finding no clean, affordable option that treated breakouts gently. Originally 'Rose Naturals,' the brand became a direct-to-consumer line of cleansers, toners, serums and moisturizers built on natural, non-stripping formulas and a mission to erase the shame around acne. Crucially for this angle, Rosen explicitly serves hyperpigmented skin: its bestselling Fade Routine, Bright Citrus Serum and Honey + Kojic collection target the dark marks and scarring that linger so stubbornly on deeper complexions. Now stocked at Ulta and Urban Outfitters, it's an accessible, Gen-Z-favorite Black-owned line, and Martin has gone further, launching Flora Studios, a manufacturer to help other emerging BIPOC brands. Honest note: Martin pushes back on being boxed in as a 'Black-only' brand, positioning Rosen for everyone, but its kojic-acid and fade products make it a genuinely strong, affordable pick for melanin-rich hyperpigmentation.
