SKNMUSE

SKNMUSE is a premium body-care brand inspired by West African beauty practices, founded in 2019 by Ezinne Iroanya-Price (a veteran of Lancôme and Dior) with her husband Ambrose. Its breakout Body Butter was built from the founder's Nigerian grandmother's recipes, and the line leans on shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut and avocado oils sourced partly from Nigeria and Ghana. The brand explicitly frames itself around 'Black luxury' and elevating self-care rituals for melanin-rich skin, rich, deeply moisturising textures designed for skin that craves butter and oil. The Divine Body Oil became a cult bestseller after endorsements from Issa Rae and aesthetician Sean Garrette. SKNMUSE is a genuine discovery gem: indie, grant-funded, community-tested in Black spaces, and a deliberate counterpoint to mass shea products. Important caveat: in 2025 the founder publicly shared that the brand was winding down after six years, citing retailer non-payment and the Nigerian shea export ban, with a final pre-order window, so verify current availability before listing as active.
