Nolaskinsentials

Nolaskinsentials is a handmade, plant-based skincare line built around hyperpigmentation and acne on deeper skin. After years of struggling with acne, founder Jane Ormon noticed her skin issues weren't being catered to and couldn't find a brand making all plant-based products for skin with melanin, so she created a line benefiting melanated and all skin tones, and that's how Nola Skinsentials was born. Started in her kitchen in 2017, everything is still made by hand in small batches, made fresh to order in Atlanta. A best-seller, the Passion Fruit Hyperpigmentation Soap was specifically made to combat dark marks on Black and brown skin, with Ormon noting that skincare made for us by us is important to the culture. She leans on chemical exfoliants like glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid that work well on melanated skin, paired with soothing hibiscus, pomegranate and aloe. Caveat: small indie with a 7-day return window.
